The cabin exceeded expectations. The view was amazing, the cabin was clean, well-maintained, and provided just the setting our family was looking for to decompress. Cloud 9 is a wonderful place for family retreat, it's not too big, and it's not too small, lots of cool games, and lots of board games, lots of videos, good internet connectivity with good variety of any kind of shows kids really enjoyed the hot tub area.

Beautiful home and location near Blowing Rock, with amazing views!

This was a great home on a gorgeous lake! Overall, we had a wonderful time and would recommend.

A few things to note that could be improved:

-in the listing it says shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toilet paper, paper towels, and coffee are provided. That was true but very small amounts of each of those things were provided that only lasted our group of 6 a day or 2. The shampoo is a 2 in 1 sample size container so I’d bring your own stuff. We also had to go to the grocery store to get more of everything else, and the stores are not very close (Walmart is 40 min away, a smaller mart with some items is ~10).

-the listing says dedicated workspace but there isn’t one (there’s a dining room table so it sufficed but isn’t technically a workspace)

-we asked for a late checkout of 1 hr and they said our only option was to extend til 1pm for $75 even tho no one else would be there that day. Everyone can have their own rules, but this is one reason we aren’t giving it 5 stars

This was our second time at the house and we were just as happy as the first! House is immaculate and well stocked. Beautiful views and quiet neighborhood. The lake is beautiful! We were able to utilize the dock this time for boating and swimming. Julie is a wonderful host!

This home felt less like a vacation rental and more like the home of a dear friend who had tried to think of everything that would make your visit exceptional. There were games and books for all ages spread throughout the house, not just in the game room. So even if you experience bad weather, there is plenty of fun and entertainment to be had in the cabin.

The main kitchen is well stocked for grilling, baking, and more. But there is also room in the pantry for your own food and gear.

The master bedroom has a lovely view and a great spa-like bathroom. All the bedrooms except the loft open to a deck or porch.

The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet, and great for walking. But it is also just a short drive to the shops and restaurants of Blowing Rock.

Our party of five people and three dogs were very comfortable. We will definitely come back again.

The views were amazing. The cabin is breath taking when u walk in. Super clean. The deck is a great place to sit and look out. Saw 2 rainbows. The driveway is difficult to navigate with a car or a lg suv very sharp turn into driveway at top. It's a steep walk to dock. Caught 0 fish.

We had an amazing stay here for seven days and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Julie was extremely responsive and very enjoyable to communicate with throughout our entire stay.

The property itself was absolutely immaculate—exactly as described, if not better. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and clearly cared for. The views from the top of the mountain at around 3,500 feet were truly stunning—easily one of the highlights of the trip.
It’s a very secluded and private location, which made it perfect for a relaxing getaway. The fresh mountain air and surrounding wildlife really added to the experience and made it feel like a true escape from everyday life.
All of the amenities were exactly what we needed and worked perfectly—no issues at all.
This was our first Airbnb experience, and it’s going to be very hard for any future stay to live up to this one. It definitely set the bar extremely high.

This cabin trip was absolutely amazing! Julie truly had everything you could think of at her property. The views were gorgeous, and she made everything so easy to find and navigate. Perfection in the Woods

We had a fantastic stay at Cloud 9 Cabin! We wanted a quiet getaway in the woods where we could soak in a hot tub in complete peace and quiet while enjoying a beautiful view, and this cabin did not disappoint. Cleanliness and comfort are always high on my list, and this property does not disappoint!

During our stay we planned to cook our own meals. We were thrilled to find a kitchen stocked with equipment that far exceeded our expectations—we simply brought our food and didn't have any moment when we had hoped they has something to use. Everything from the grill to the bedroom fans was in working order, and the furniture was comfortable and in great shape. There was absolutely nothing we needed to bring besides our personal items.

The hosts were fantastic—friendly, thorough, and quick to respond. They provided great local recommendations for activities and restaurants, clear packing tips, easy-to-follow house instructions, and most importantly, exact driving directions. But the absolute highlight was the view. It is so stunning that you could simply sit all day with nothing planned and be completely content. We had an outstanding time and HIGHLY recommend a stay here!!

It was a relaxing and healing retreat, we Bible studied and crafted to our hearts content, the hosts were so kind they had everything we needed. I will say a little hard to find with the instructions but my GPS got us there just fine. Host was responsive and helpful. Home had a lot of space to relax and the perfect kitchen set up. My only issue was the amount of dust and pet hair behind furniture and on the floor. Otherwise a truly wonderful place to stay. The view was incredible.

Perfect vacation

Words can not express how beautiful and perfect Julie’s mountain home is! She has thought of everything! Our family all came together from North Carolina and Georgia to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from Appalachian State! We cooked every meal in the fully stocked kitchen and grilled on the deck!! We had an ice cream sundae celebration in the basement kitchen along with great music and rounds of pool! The top deck with the GORGEOUS sunsets were the highlight for sure along with stargazing once the sun went down! We took some beautiful sunset photos! The fire pit area was so cozy and enjoyable! Our family all slept so comfortably and we made some of the best memories this weekend! You will love staying in Julie’s amazing mountain home! Thank you Julie for sharing your home with us!!

This cabin was such a perfect choice for a relaxing get away that could also be active! It is gorgeous and so well cared for. The scenic view is beautiful, there is plenty of space for families, everything is labeled and organized but then there is so much set up for play! Julie was so communicative. 100% recommend.

Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay with the family, it was a home away from home, except this home had an amazing view from the deck with the lake and the mountains in the back ground.

Julie has been hands down, the best host I’ve ever had using AirBnB. All the instructions we simple laid out ahead of time, any questions were quickly answered, she gave suggestions on things in the area, as well as when you got the the place there were menus/brochures of local establishments.

We look forward to coming back and staying again. Well worth the trip is anyone is on the fence about booking.

Beautiful location doesn’t even begin to describe it. The property description does warn you about the roads leading up to the house. It is accurate, but it was a bit intimidating. We did make sure we picked up everything we needed for the night - traveling down the mountain in the dark was not an option for us. The sunrises and sunsets were just amazing! The hot tub is wonderful!!!!!

One of my favorite Airbnb experiences! Cabin was beautiful with a great, unobstructed view of mountains and a peaceful valley. Hot tub was massive and clean! We added massages from Boone Massage Housecalls! The only thing I would note is that if you have trouble with steps, the great room is a "sunken" room and the deck has a few steps but the good news is that there is only 1 step from car to cabin!

Julie was extremely helpful and proactive when an unforeseen issue occurred. She kindly assisted my stay at another rental which turned out to be a gorgeous home and location in Blowing Rock, NC. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful with a spectacular view. It was a much needed getaway that I will never forget!

This lovely home was the perfect location for a Girls Trip/Reunion! The kitchen and living room area had plenty of space for the nine of us to comfortably mingle, eat, sit and talk. The views out the windows and off of the large deck were breathtaking! The beds were comfortable and bedrooms spacious; the kitchen was very well-equipped to meet all of our needs. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

I really do not know how to put in to words how amazing this place is. We made memories that could not ever be replaced. We made it a point to do a big grocery haul before heading to the mountain and I am glad we did! The kitchen at Cloud 9 literally had everything we needed to make healthy, big meals for a family of 5. I thought the labels of things prior to getting there was extra but it made life in the kitchen smooth and seamless. I truly cannot thank the hosts enough for a truly amazing trip. I really hope to be back one day and/or rent one of their other homes. They made us feel like kings and queens.

The host Julie was wonderful. She is super responsive and very helpful with her detailed instructions and local recommendations. Her lake cabin is a perfect family getaway. Beautiful deck views of the lake and stars at night, large hot tub, canoe, foosball, cornhole, and a large movie selection to name a few. We had a great time! Pet friendly too was a huge plus!

Cloud 9 didn't disappoint!!! The view was absolutely breathtaking, the cabin was immaculate, it had just about everything you need (except paper towel, lol!) , and the sunsets were to die for. The roads it took us through GPS were VERY sketchy, narrow and winding. Sometimes to pin point turns, however if you take them slow they are manageable. The hot tub was the biggest we've ever experienced in all our travels and very clean. The cabin itself felt very homey and comfortable. My 17 year old literally said we should live there, and we could've have agreed any more. It's one of our top 3 favorite Airbnb's.

I got this Airbnb as a big part of the surprise trip I planned for my boyfriend’s birthday. Absolutely 10000/10. The views from the deck were gorgeous! The driveway is steep so take caution on that. The cabin itself was beautiful- warm, inviting, cozy. The absolute PERFECT stay. Julie was fantastic! She was communicative, responsive, very friendly, and overall a great host. We were so sad to leave but are already planning our next stay….We will definitely be staying here again!

The cabin was amazing. It was clean and very well kept. The view was amazing and made the trip worth every penny. The cabin is secluded and private, just what we needed.

Very well equipped vacation home, the kitchen had absolutely everything you would need and plenty of plates, cups, bowls etc. New appliances including the washer and dryer. The house was very clean and neat, excellent communication and recommendations from the hosts. Our only surprise was a very steep driveway along with snow the first 2 days. Pet friendly and wonderful views of the mountains and lake - we were fortunate to have both a winter and spring experience in our week stay! Highly recommend this property!

It was the easiest stay with kids! the x-box was a huge hit with my little ones and allowed time for us adults. we loved the hot tub and the view is gorgeous. the kiddos loved playing with their RC boats on the lake.

This house literally HAS IT ALL. Everything you could possibly want or need is provided minus food and personal items. The views are absolutely stunning and the home is perfect. Definitely do not skip on this house, we will be back!!! The driveway is steep so take the provided vehicle suggestions seriously! Julie was SO responsive, prepared and accommodating. We almost got snowed in and the host went above and beyond to help us out. Can’t say enough good things!

This home is spectacular. Very private, quiet. Great kitchen with all drawers and cabinets clearly labeled and you continue to enjoy the view while cooking. Multiple sites for reading, plenty of games and DVDs for entertainment. Back porch for the incredible view which cannot be captured by photos. Beautiful mountain home

Our host was very accomodating making sure everything was just perfect for us. They made sure the driveway was plowed during a 12" snow making sure we had a safe time. All the video systems were set up for easy access to our personal apps which clears out access upon our checkout date. And the hot tub was nice and hot even during the cold winter months.

We had an amazing stay at Legacy View Lodge! The house was spotless, spacious, and incredibly well laid out for a group. The views were beautiful, and the outdoor spaces - especially the hot tub and fire pit - were perfect for relaxing after a day exploring Blowing Rock.

The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out while still having great common areas to gather. The game room and multiple decks were a big hit with our group.

The location was ideal - quiet and private, yet just a short drive to downtown Blowing Rock and nearby attractions. Communication with the host was excellent, and everything about the stay was smooth and easy.

My family had a wonderful stay at Legacy View Lodge! The home was clean and the view of Grandfather Mountain stunning. The fireplace was warm and cozy with a big tv above for family movie night. We were stuck inside most of our stay due to an ice storm and didn’t once get bored, as there is plenty of entertainment provided - hot tub, pool table, corn hole, tvs throughout the house and old school nintendos, along with lots of other games and books. Our kids had a blast! The kitchen was stocked with anything one would need, which was great as we prepared all meals during our stay at the house and didn’t eat out. The very nice master bathroom shower and bidet were a plus. Julie was such a communicative and accommodating host; she was very gracious with us not being able to leave due to impossible road conditions. We will definitely stay again!

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful, cozy cabin in the mountains! We felt right at home and got to relax so much while staring at the view. It was so clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed and if we did need something, the grocery store was down the mountain. We even got snow! The house is very well equipped for the cold weather with heat throughout plus space heaters in every room. 10/10 would recommend and stay here again! Thank you!

Total relaxing week

The minute we arrived at Cloud 9 just felt all the stress melt. It is such a peaceful and relaxing stay every time we have been there. All that we needed was right there. It is well maintained and the cleaning crew always does a great job. Will definitely return later this year.

If I could give 6 stars for Julie's cabin, I would. To start, she was an incredibly responsive and helpful host, communicating along the way and allowing us early check in. The house was amazing. Exactly as described, but even better when we started looking around. All the little details, from the Alexa's scattered throughout the house, to the night lights, to the wireless phone chargers in each room. There were many games, books and movies to choose from and smart TV's with access to most streaming platforms. Both patios were fantastic with clean cushions and comfortable furniture and a gas fire table that was so fun to sit around one night. The kitchen was well stocked to cook everything we needed for all meals, but Blowing Rock is full of fantastic restaurants if you didn't want to eat in. The location could not have been better. High enough up for an AMAZING view, but just 8 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock. We had an amazing mountain Christmas! TY, Julie!

The place was absolutely gorgeous. Breathtaking views & had everything we needed. The hot tub was perfect even in the cold. If you book here you will not be disappointed! Definitely prepare yourself if you plan to go in the winter. The host was very kind and accommodating. Some of roads are plowed, thankfully we followed the host recommendation to get snow chains for our truck because it snowed the day we left & our friend had a sedan we had to dig out a few times. It was such a quiet & relaxing place. We went to villa nove winery per the host recommendation & it was beautiful! Would absolutely stay there again!

Our Thanksgiving Day family gathering was perfect at this beautiful Blowing Rock home. We felt right at home and the location was so close to shopping, downtown Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mountain. Highly recommend! Thanks for everything Julie!

Great time at Julie’s place for Thanksgiving with family. Heat was interesting as it would get very warm in bedrooms and then chillier in common area/living room. Probably due to the space and ceiling height. Had an excellent time though!

Cloud 9 was absolutely fantastic for our little family get away. The view is spectacular, the house was cozy and had everything we needed for a great stay. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories!

Beautiful peaceful location with a mountain view. The fire pit as well as the jacuzzi were great for everyone to relax. And I enjoyed sitting on the deck with the fire table going reading and looking at the view. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and the kids had fun running around and we felt they were safe playing outside. There was very little traffic, and it was a great quiet neighborhood. Also, the town of Blowing Rock was just a quick drive away and we were able to shop and eat out and not have a long drive to get back. All in all, a great time was had by everyone!

Lovely Fall Weekend

I booked this for the view and it did not disappoint! The pictures do not do it justice. We had a group of 10 adults and 2 under 2. There was plenty of room for everyone. It was nice because those with babies stayed in the basement and had their own kitchen/ did not wake the entire house when they woke up. It was also really nice to have steaming log ins provided by the owners.

Absolutely beautiful, so relaxing, not far from everything, really don’t need to leave..we have fun playing pool, jacuzzi, speakers on outside to listen to music, view beautiful..Julie was the best, sweet, and responded quickly!!

Looking forward to the next stay already! Legacy View has it all. Super quiet neighborhood, gorgeous views, comfy furniture, toys for the littles and so much more.
The kitchen was beyond well stocked. All the tools needed for cooking were available; they've thought of everything. I love that everything was labeled so no guessing where to find things.
The home is beautifully decorated and is very spacious but cozy at the same time.
I highly recommend this place.
Julie thoughtfully made local recommendations and gave us clear instructions on check in and check out.
Would rate higher if that were an option.

Visited cloud 9 4 or 5 times now over past years. Exceptional cabin, clean, very well appointed, with exceptional Mountain View’s. The hosts are very easy to deal with and accommodating. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway this is a great place to stay.

My family had a great time staying here! We loved how close the house was close to downtown Blowing Rock and the beautiful views from the back porch. The house itself slept us all comfortably. The new fire pit was also so nice to enjoy s’mores. We plan to come back again next year!

Perfect stay at Cloud 9

As have our other stays at Cloud 9 it was perfect. The cabin was wonderful, comfortable and as always relaxing. The view was spectacular.

The cabin was exactly as described and we loved our stay. The place is quiet and relaxing and has an everything you needed. We loved our stay and would definitely stay there again.

We celebrated our 2nd anniversary at Cloud 9 with our dog, and it was absolutely wonderful! The peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking views were exactly what we were looking for. The home is nestled in the woods, offering both privacy and a true connection to nature. The deck was our favorite spot—perfect for enjoying a morning coffee and a good book, or relaxing at sunset. We’d definitely love to come back!

Our family spent three nights at the house and really enjoyed our time. Very remote and very peaceful. Really enjoyed the hot tub with the views off the deck.

End of September review. The house is exactly as described. Perfectly clean and the inside is well maintained. We canoed around the lake and loved the peaceful quiet. 2 gray egrets were especially fun to watch. The hot tub is amazing with so many different jets, it relaxes the whole body. Sadly the local winery is only open Fri-Sun, now that they are mostly closed for the season. The local mercantile has a good b’fast and dinner and the staff are really pleasant. We couldn’t get in to any of the recommended restaurants. Lesson learned: book your dinners well before your vacation stay!! Would love to stay here again! Host is very agreeable and easy to work with. Enjoy!!

Beautiful home with perfect views! We really enjoyed our time in Butler!

The home was spotlessly clean. The floor plan was great. Two master bedrooms with private baths on either side of the house created a great feeling of privacy.
No adjacent houses within view, only the most inspiring view of the mountains.

The best view in Blowing Rock. You can sit on the large porch and not see a neighbor and gaze and the sunset over Grandfather mountain. The house is large and comfortable. The kitchen is beautifully equipped. TV is big and sofas are comfy. We spent so much time on the top deck! Thank you.

This was a awesome place with a great view it's definitely the place if you enjoy your privacy. Our hosts were great.Loved the drive getting there. The accommodations were top of the line. We actually went for the Bristol race it was a hour drive but worth it. You won't go wrong staying here.

We spent the weekend at eagles peak cabin celebrating our anniversary. We were blown away by the views, the house and the amenities as soon as we arrived. The house had great details, very welcoming design and furniture. The kitchen was nicely stocked and also included empty cabinets for us to store our food. The bathroom was clean and the shower head was awesome (always a bonus!). The king size bed was comfortable and clean. There were tons of dvds and games as well as an Xbox and kids entertainment. They thought of everything! The deck was absolutely perfect! Outdoor speakers, large hot tub, grill, fire pit, plenty of chairs. You can’t beat the view! Julie was so wonderful to communicate with. She sent plenty of ideas for restaurants, activities & things to do around the area. The rules and procedures were clearly communicated and she was very friendly, respectful and prompt with contacting me. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, you’ll be so glad you chose this cabin!

Me and my family had a wonderful stay! The kids loved all the movie selections and of course the hot tub! Place was very clean and organized! Loved all the oversized furniture and how there wasn’t any clutter at all. Everything was simple and we love that! We cooked the whole weekend and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed (and the grill was VERY clean). The beds were very comfortable as well! Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

We had a wonderful stay at Eagles Peak; so peaceful, wonderful cabin and facilities. Will certainly be staying again!

Great cabin with perfect lake view and breezes. Julie accommodated a last minute early check in... the place was impecably clean and well stocked. We stayed a long weekend, 2 couples and our dogs. very dog friendly - the deck was a great place for the doggies to be with us. both king size bedrooms were comfortable and with one up and one down, we all had our privacy. definitely recommend. thank you!

Cloud 9 = Above Expectations

My wife and I rented Cloud 9 for our Wedding Anniversary. First, let us say the view from the deck is heavenly! When you arrive, you will find the cabin clean and in excellent order. Comfortable bedrooms, bathrooms and a cozy kitchen will make your stay an outstanding one. The den is inviting and has a great entertainment system for an evening of movies with your family. With a hot tub, Weber grill and gas fire pit on the deck, you will sincerely wish you had booked more time at Cloud 9. Thank you Mark and Julie for a wonderful anniversary experience.

Serenity!

We had a wonderful time at Eagles Peak celebrating our daughter’s birthday. All four of us enjoyed the tranquility, peacefulness, and beauty of the surroundings. We ate every meal alfresco, watched the sun rise each morning from the deck, and listened to the breeze and the rippling of the water from the dock each evening. Communication was excellent. The cabin was top notch. The scenery was perfect. The location was quite a distance to get somewhere to do things, or get to a grocery store. Overall a pretty good stay.

This is our 5th stay at Cloud 9 and it won’t be our last. The house was perfect. Never left after our arrival. From relaxing on the deck each morning with coffee and breakfast, to spending time in the hot tub and taking a quiet walk down the private road each day. It is such a wonderful place to just unplug and soak in the mountains and majestic sunsets. We look forward to our next visit.

Julie's AirBNB was perfect for our vacation at Watauga Lake. The house is well laid out with lots of helpful touches that we very much appreciated. The built in and extra child gates were very helpful for our 13 month old, and the kids very much appreciated the toys and games. The check in was smooth and quite easy once we arrived and check out was not difficult with clear instructions provided. Highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful retreat along the lake.

This cabin in the Tennessee mountains was an absolute dream! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning views and the cozy, inviting atmosphere. The cabin itself was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, truly a home away from home.

We wanted to spend a few days in the mountains with our oldest daughter before she went back to Japan. We loved the location and the view. Everyone enjoyed just hanging out and playing games and said it felt like home. An added bonus was being able to bring our dogs with us so she could spend time with them as well. If we would have had more time, we would have explored more of the surrounding areas, but it was nice to just sit back and relax, eat, and play games. We had some rain, but not enough to "dampen" our spirits.

We loved our stay at Eagle’s Peak on Watagua Lake in Butler, Tn! The cabin was so comfy/cozy with amazing views and fun amenities like the luxurious hot tub, fire and foosball tables. Our kids loved the X Box and toys in the bunk bed room. Perfect to kick back and do some serious relaxing.

This was by far the most beautiful place we have ever been too. The views are of epic proportions the cabin was clean and comfortable. We didnt want to leave. If you are looking for a peaceful quiet getaway there is none better. The location is a good distance from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg or pigeon forge but thats what we were looking for, for our honeymoon. Suba's is excellent dining if looking for a wonderful meal.

Eagles peak was a comfortable place to stay near the Sugar Hollow wedding that we came to attend. The living room was great, kitchen was full of pans, etc with coffee maker, ice maker, lots of storage. We appreciated the basket of cooking spices. Several of our party enjoyed the hot tub and the extensive deck was great! Lots of places to sit - sun, shade, rocking chair, picnic table. We saw a doe and baby deer from the deck, lots of birds on the wire and flitting around the bushes.
A couple people went to the nearby winery and mercantile, they were able to pick up a few necessities there without driving far. We had dinner in Boone one evening, not too far, (the other dinners were at the wedding venue).
Julie was quick to respond to questions and had excellent suggestions of places to visit and eat. It was a wonderful family gathering.

Eagle peak was an all around great spot!mesmerizing views from a very roomy deck with hottub and nice covered area that is attached ,lots of seating.terriffic movie collection makes everyone happy and if that’s not enough the lake is a short walk and the provided canoe cruises around the cove great.we’ll be back next year.the area also has lots of food and entertainment options within 20 minutes or so

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Julie's place! The home was beautiful and clean with amazing views from the back decks. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we could possibly need, including cooking spices and coffee pods. One thing we weren't expecting was the beautiful community that the home is nestled in! It's just a couple minutes' walk from the house to the most incredible overlook of the mountains. And if you want to walk further, it's about a mile loop with gorgeous views of the mountains and stunning homes in this peaceful community. We walked the loop several times during our stay. The location is also very close to downtown Blowing Rock (about a 13-minute drive) and also close to Boone, Grandfather Mountain, and other amazing restaurants and attractions. Julie was a great host and very responsive. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon!

Cloud 9 is a beautiful cabin with a spectacular view. The cabin had everything we needed, down to charging stations for our phones and watches! Julie’s directions to get to the cabin were helpful to have and we were able to find it without issue in the dark! We look forward to coming back soon!

A place to stay for a Butler wedding

We really enjoyed this cabin. The view was beautiful - watching the clouds move across the hills while sitting on the deck was so calming. In early May, it was a quiet retreat. We appreciated the equipment-stocked kitchen, the washer and dryer, and the comfy beds. Thanks so much for sharing your cabin with us! If we’re in the area again, we’ll hope to stay with you.

A feeling of peace and contentment overtakes you in this environment. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views are breathtaking 💚. Enjoyed the hot tub under the stars; watching the sunset by the gas fire; listening to the birds welcome the new day in the morning with coffee by the gas grill. Looking down on the clouds in the valley was an amazing experience. Although we didn’t play any games, there was a great selection. Only one thing to mention - more clothes hangers for the overpackers (guilty) 😆. Just kidding, my husband tells me all the time that I overpack! Julie is an awesome host. She graciously allowed us to reschedule our trip due to the hurricane here and the 2 hurricanes we had in Florida. 🧡💚❤️

Area is secluded, quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. Host is super responsive, helpful, gave ideas of things to do and places to go, shop, eat, etc. Perfect retreat for my wife and I.

Great place to stay! The view is fantastic and the house is set up nicely for a group with plenty of comfortable seating. Host is very responsive. The only downside currently is the road closures make the drive to nearby activities a little longer than usual, but still not too bad.

Our FWD RAV4 was totally fine for the drive during dry weather, but I would heed the vehicle/AWD recommendations if you’re coming with the chance of rougher weather (also the NC way up the mountain seemed more paved and less steep than the TN route).

We had a wonderful time and the pictures don’t do it justice! Couldn’t have asked for a better getaway and we had everything we needed for our stay!

The cabin had amazing views. It was clean and exactly as described. The family enjoyed the board and card games. The hot tub was nice after all of the hikes we went on. We enjoyed the cabin and that area of North Carolina and Tennessee. The cabin had lots of amenities for both my wife and me, as well as our three children. The cabin even had a whole house generator that kept the power on during a short power outage as well.

Julie was available if we had any questions and responded quickly.

Absolutely beautiful and secluded location! I took my telescope to watch the lunar eclipse and the location and view were perfect. The hosts are very responsive and the house is well equipped (great wifi too). I would highly recommend to those looking to get away and enjoy beautiful mountain views, with close proximity to Boone and Lake Watauga.

Wow where do I even begin? First of all we got engaged here so obviously we will love this place forever. Throughout this entire experience Julie has gone above and beyond for absolutely anything. Her thoroughness made for an extremely easy vacation from beginning to end even with the hiccup we had with the fireplace! 10/10.
The drive into the cabin is beautiful and serene just the way you’d want it to be 🥰 I’ll say the drive from the TN side is definitely steeper. We got a big snow storm and we were still able to drive on the NC side comfortably in our 2WD SUV. The cabin was well stocked with starter items that allowed for an easier transition. The cabin was extremely cozy and clean from the moment we stepped in. The sunsets are out of this world and stunning every night.
I absolutely recommend this cabin to anyone, I myself have no children but it was extremely child safe as well! Thank you so much to Julie and her family for allowing us to stay at your beautiful cabin!

This home away from home took my breath away. It's was spacious yet cozy. I came during February got to see some snow. The area covered in snow is as equally stunning with out it. LOVED visiting Boone, very small town with very nice and amazing people. I had the pleasure of going to Sugger Mountain and Grandfather Mountains both less then a hour away from the house. Julie was a wonderful host. Very attentive and patient. This is home to make memories. I hope to come again.

Cloud 9 was more than we had even hoped for. The house was private with amazing views. The cabin was well equipped with everything that we needed. It was especially helpful having things labeled in the kitchen including empty cabinets for our pantry items. The hot tub was incredibly relaxing. The host was super responsive and friendly. We enjoyed watching it snow from the giant windows while cozying up in front of the fire place. We plan to return to Cloud 9!

Cloud 9 cabin was a dream! It had breathtaking views and was very peaceful. Julie was very communicative and friendly. We were grateful for all the recommendations on activities and places to eat. We brought our pup and he had a blast. We enjoyed the nearby towns, a winery and local food places. When we arrived there was a winter storm the first day, but everything went smoothly. If you are traveling during winter, tire chains or cables are a MUST. We had a 4x4 and still needed the tire chains because of the ice. Most of the roads are plowed but if it’s cold the ice will not melt and you will need the chains to get to the cabin. We only had a very brief power outage but got power back within 20 mins and the cabin had a generator. Julie was very responsive and offered assistance quickly. There were many board games and books so you will not be bored ever. We appreciated the hot tub, even in winter. Overall, amazing experience and would stay here again.

Cloud 9 was such a perfect place for my family and I to relax, disconnect from the busy world, and have fun. The description of the house and surroundings perfectly fit. We were there in January, and there was so much snow it was magical. For our little kids, the immediate surroundings had perfect easy sledding and beautiful views of the snowy landscape. Really appreciated all of the kids equipment that were provided in the house and the games and puzzles. My kids also LOVED the gaming area in the loft. Already planning a trip back to Cloud 9 in the future.

Great place for our family Christmas weekend. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable rooms, great master suite, kids loved the pool table, easy walk up the road to a gorgeous mountain view you can see for miles! Host was easy to contact, responded quickly, and the house was ready for us.

Amazing view, roads paved, great communication with hosts when needed. My family rents a cabin 2-4 times a year. Typically I try not to get my hopes up as the pictures make properties look better than what they are. I am more than satisfied with cloud 9 cabin. Pictures cannot do this place justice! The view is perfect. 2 king bedrooms was nice for two couples and the loft was great for our children. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Just spent the Thanksgiving holiday at Legacy View Lodge and we had a blast. A beautifully appointed home with an even more beautiful view. Can't wait to go back!

Such a beautiful area We knew ahead the area was hit hard by Hurricane Helene, so nothing negative about anything with the Airbnb! Google maps and Waze had not caught up with the hurricane road closures! Nothing that Julie didn’t prepare us for! She gave excellent play by play directions!

Julie and Mark are outstanding hosts, this is the most beautiful cabin we have ever stayed in. The view from Cloud 9 is stunning and the sunsets will take your breath away. It was a five star resort experience for sure. We will be back to see the different seasons.

Cloud 9 had everything we wanted and more for a vacation in the mountains. This time we wanted something private that had great views and all the amenities. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. The hot tub was amazing of course! The views were excellent. And the bed was so so comfortable. I couldn't have asked for better.

Fantastic anniversary weekend at Eagle's Peak. Julie went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and more! She also provided wonderful suggestions for food and entertainment, that catered to our personal needs. Super clean cabin, cozy, with peaceful and amazing views of the river and mountains. We will definitely be back asap and will bring the whole family!

My friends and I wanted someplace secluded with a great view of the changing fall leaves - and this place was absolutely perfect! The views of the lake and surrounding hills/mountains were breathtaking at all times of day. The home itself instantly felt cozy. Reading out on the deck and relaxing in the hot tub while stargazing were highlights. We often took walks down the street when we didn’t drive somewhere else to hike. The warnings about the steep driveway were definitely needed - but we became pros in no time!

Overall we’d definitely stay here again. A true home away from home! ❤️

Our family had an amazing stay at Cloud 9! The cabin was just what we were looking for and had everything we needed. Fully stocked and cozy, we loved being able to bring our fur babies along for the trip as well. My kids loved the loft area! Outstanding/stunning views, quiet and peaceful area that’s within short driving distance to things to do. Julie was an incredible host. Her communication was by far the best I’ve ever had with a host: proactive, thorough, thoughtful! She was on top of it and made sure we had a great trip! I highly recommend Cloud 9 and we’d come back in a heart beat!

A perfect mountain get away!

I'd been planning this trip for me and my 4 bestest girlfriends for 5 years. I booked this beautiful cabin in Blowing Rock because it looked absolutely perfect for us. Then...Helene happened. And I'm from Florida...and Milton happened. I spent days in limbo...can we or can't we go? Thankfully, power and other services were restored just days before our arrival date so we didn't have to cancel. But let's talk about Julie, the host. She was absolutely phenomenal with communication and even offered for us to come up a couple days early at a discounted rate, knowing Milton was about to hit our area and we were trying to leave early. It was a crazy few days, but somehow she made it easier all around. Even once there and I had questions, she was so quick to respond. And the cabin...it was clean and organized and we just had so much fun whether watching movies, playing games (including pool and darts!) or lounging in the hot tub. The view is breathtaking and I spent a lot of time just gazing out of windows and sitting on the decks. And honestly, it just felt like being home. We were all so comfortable and just had such a good time. If I get the opportunity, I will absolutely stay here again.

Relaxation Remedy

The communication prior to our stay and afterwards were very helpful! Those in charge had a vested interest in the quality of our stay and all communications were easy to accomplish. We loved the location for walking, docking our boat, and swimming! The house was cozy and well equipped with all that we needed. We would definitely stay there again!

I can not rave about Julie’s place enough, This is actually the second time we have stayed here, and have loved it each time. The location is absolutely amazing, with views that pictures don’t do justice. I do suggest 4 wheel drive for the driveway. Everything was clean, well kept, and we could tell well taken care of. We went to use the fire pit, but it was unfortunately out of propane. Julie quickly responded, and had us a new tank brought out same day, which we greatly appreciated!! The hot tub was excellent as well! If you are looking for somewhere to rest, relax and unwind for a few days, I highly recommend!! We look forward to visiting again!!!

Secluded, Peaceful, cozy

The property is in a great location that is secluded and feels like you're in a place all of your own. Beautiful views of the mountains wether you are replacing on the porch, in the hot tub, or in the cabin. There is wineries, OHV rentals, and the lake all close by (about 30 mins) to add your stay. We wish we were able to stay longer than we did! Loved it.

Legacy Lodge is a wonderful find! The view is stunning and the fire table on the deck makes it so relaxing. Legacy is so relaxing that you don't want to leave, but when you do, Blowing Rick is only 4 miles away. We walked Bass Lake which is on the right as you go to BR.
Clean, comfortable, and convenient with a host that is assesible and pleasant . Enjoy! A five star find!

This was a lovely home to spend a weekend away in. We had a relaxing stay with a very pretty view.

The host was very thorough and responsive and gave quite a bit of prior information.

A couple of things we didn't know before in advance: the dock is a little precarious for small children and the driveway has a crazy hairpin turn in it. We drove larger vehicles and had to use the neighbors driveway to make the turn. It will be extra tricky when the neighbors house is occupied (it was still under construction during our stay). If we were to return, we wouldn't drive a suburban again.

Things we loved/recommend: We enjoyed both nearby wineries and we rented a pontoon for a day to explore the lake.

The home has a beautiful view of the cove it's on and a nice hot deck and hot tub facing the view.

Super Labor Day weekend at Legacy View Lodge. The home fit our group perfectly and it was a special place to enjoy with our extended family!

Great family memories created by an amazing property w everything we needed to experience Lake Watauga and all is beauty. Eagles soaring, mountains smoking, fish jumping with boating,hiking, wine tasting and more all in a few days because of the premier location and great host recommendations. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful

The view was amazing and cottage was good for just us and our dog. Everything you need to cook and other unexpected things like charges by beds and extra pillows and blankets. Will definitely come back. Very remote but that is what we wanted. Host very responsive !

Wonderful lakefront gem! The house was beautiful and the views were amazing. So glad we were able to visit, we hope to be able to come back again some day!

Legacy View Lodge has amazing views! The home is great as pictured with spacious decks and very comfortable seating. The neighborhood is peaceful and the location is perfect. Julie is a very responsive and friendly host who provided clear directions, check-in, and check-out instructions. Thanks for a great stay. We hope to return!

wonderful getaway vacation home

This place is secluded enough for privacy, yet close enough to lake activities. I love that the well stocked kitchen cabinets were all labeled and some were empty for our use. There were even plastic containers available for our use. There is a nice beach area about 1/2 hour away and marinas close by for boat rentals.

Great views

Clean spacious house with great views. Huge hot tub, nice new fire pit, well equipped kitchen, very cozy and comfortable. Dock access is a big plus.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Legacy View Lodge. Beautiful mountain views, secluded and peaceful. The house was as advertised. Looked and felt as expected based on the description and pictures. Our visit consisted of 9 people, 2 families with 4 teens and a younger child. There was plenty of space for all of us. The house could have easily hosted a few more. The kids really enjoyed the hot tub, which was clean and worked flawlessly. They also enjoyed playing pool, darts and chess in the downstairs game area. The internet worked great, I believe I clocked about 280+ Mbps download on my laptop. The host, Julie, was also great. She was informative and very responsive. She recommended plenty of nearby activities for our family. We enjoyed hiking the Boone Fork Trail, which was a bit tough but well worth the experience. We also enjoyed the laid back vibe of downtown Boone. We highly recommend staying at the Legacy View Lodge and look forward to returning there at some point.

Eagles Peak was beautiful! Pictures & description is exactly what you get. Julie was a great host with great communication! Replied to questions promptly & gave precise directions to get to the property! Lots of “extras” that you don’t know that you need…like wireless phone chargers by the beds & in the living room. The water pressure was great in the bathrooms (this is a huge plus in my book), gates to keep our dog on the porch & many others. The views are spectacular! We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening beverages on the deck! We played cards out there with the kids nightly. A little warm out for the hot tub but would be a plus for cooler months. The driveway is steep & the dock is a little ways from the property, but there is room on the side of the road by the dock to park your vehicle. We rented a pontoon from Mallard Cove Mariana & enjoyed all the lake had to offer! Highly recommend & would stay here again or at any other properties Julie has!

I rarely give reviews: Thank you Could Nine!

Cloud Nine was a dream. Several mornings we awoke, surrounded by clouds and fog, only to see them slowly dissipate and reveal beautiful mountains and serene valleys. The cabin was outstanding! It is great for a family, an extended family or two small families. It is equipped with everything you would want, and the cabin has high end appliances. The kitchen is well stocked and the interior well decorated. I inquired about a firepit prior to reserving the cabin and the next thing that I knew, one was provided. It wasn’t a basic wood burning firepit, but an elegant propane firepit placed on the deck to take advantage of the outstanding views. The exterior has a hot tub, grill, firepit, etc. and the views are spectacular Julie, the host/owner was delightful. She responded quickly, thoughtfully, and graciously. We felt like welcomed guests. I’m not sure if we will be making it back to Mountain City, TN. However, with a host as gracious as Julie and cabin as spectacular as Cloud Nine, it may be worth the trip.

This was the perfect cabin for our getaway trip!! The cabin was perfectly clean, spacious, and beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and the house had everything we needed! The hot tub was such a wonderful addition and we had so much fun spending time on the dock/lake! 10/10 we would definitely return!!

We had a great time. The place was perfect for the 7 of us celebrating my brothers retirement from the Fire Department after 31 years.

We spent the 4th of July weekend on Cloud 9. Beautiful home with an incredible view! Owners are very responsive. Very comfortable accommodations, kitchen well stocked. Would definitely rent here again!

Eagles Peak was the perfect spot for our 2 little families. We had 3 young children and the baby gates/extra amenities made a big difference for us. The place is located on a peaceful part of the lake and the views cannot be matched!! Kitchen is extremely well equipped as is the rest of the house. There are numerous wireless chargers in the home, which was such a nice touch. Julie has thought of everything! The bedrooms offer a good bit of privacy, perfect for our 2 families.
Final pitch of the driveway is steep, might suggest 4WD/AWD.
We had a wonderful long 4th of July visit with our families. Can’t wait to return!
